Author of Synthetic Charisma

Forensic Psychologist Kurt Dillon, M.A, M.S. is the author of Synthetic Charisma: A Psychological Profile of Artificial Intelligence. The book, Kurt’s first non-fiction title, is a rigorously documented investigation into how conversational AI systems mimic empathy and charm well enough to become dangerous companions for the people least equipped to withstand them. Authoring Synthetic Charisma drew directly on Kurt’s dual background in journalism and forensic psychology, brought to bear on one of the first books to treat AI-related wrongful-death litigation as a body of evidence rather than a series of isolated headlines.

Kurt is the founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of The Florida Sun Journal, and CEO and owner of its parent company, Unimatrix Omnimedia Corp. He graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a Master of Arts in English/Journalism and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology, with minors in History and Political Science — the same dual lens of investigative rigor and psychological analysis that shapes Synthetic Charisma‘s case-by-case examination of AI-related harm. He is a retired Major in the United States Army, having served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.

As a journalist, Kurt is also an editor at Illumination Integrated Publications on Medium and owns Mysteries of History, a publication dedicated to investigating the unexplained. He is also the owner of Veritas True Crime, and the owner of the wildly successful true crime podcast The Veritas 7. Kurt is additionally the owner and founder of MyFurFace.com, the most revolutionary social media platform for pets, with many more exciting new projects on the horizon. That same investigative instinct — a refusal to accept a surface-level account when the underlying record can be checked — is what drove him to build Synthetic Charisma on nearly 170 sourced court filings, transcripts, and reports rather than argument alone.
